About Axtria

Axtria is a global provider of AI, cloud software, and data analytics solutions for the Life Sciences industry. We help Life Sciences companies build and transform their commercialization strategies to drive sustainable sales growth and improve healthcare outcomes for patients. Our work impacts millions of lives, and we're deeply committed to making that impact meaningful.

Founded in 2010, Axtria's competitive edge is rooted in technology innovation. We continue to lead the market with platforms powered by Agentic AI, Generative AI, and Machine Learning. Our AI-enabled cloud platforms — Axtria SalesIQ™, Axtria DataMax™, and Axtria MarketingIQ™ — help customers turn data into decisions, faster: powering advanced analytics, insight-led sales and marketing planning, and end-to-end commercial operations.

The Role

Axtria is looking for a Director to help lead our Commercial Excellence practice — a confident strategist and problem-solver who can walk into a client's business, understand the situation, read the room, and lead a cross-functional team of clients and Axtria consultants to the right solution. You'll bring a strategic consultant's toolkit, deep expertise in incentive compensation strategy and design, and broad fluency across commercial operations — along with the business acumen to spot where a client's brand and commercial strategy need help, and the initiative to propose it before they ask.

What You'll Do

  • Read client organizations quickly — understand the business context, stakeholder dynamics, and brand/commercial strategy — to shape a point of view and proactively identify unmet needs and new solutions, not just respond to stated ones.

  • Partner closely with clients to translate business objectives into impactful AI-, data- and analytics-driven solutions.

  • Break down complex, ambiguous business problems into clear requirements and actionable solutions across consulting and on-site engagements.

  • Own and drive projects across the commercial operations landscape, with particular depth in incentive compensation strategy and design, go-to-market strategy, field force design and deployment, customer segmentation, dynamic targeting, alignment, call planning, field reporting, salesforce effectiveness and ad-hoc analytics.

  • Develop and deliver executive-level presentations and recommendations that address client challenges and identify opportunities for expanded engagements.

  • Work hands-on with client business stakeholders with minimal oversight.

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining strong client satisfaction and delivery timelines.

  • Build, manage, and develop high-performing teams — coaching, mentoring, and preparing talent for long-term growth and leadership.

  • Contribute to team growth through referrals, interviewing, and hiring.

  • Drive thought leadership through POVs, whitepapers, solution frameworks, and client-ready content that strengthens Axtria's position as a strategic advisor and consultative partner.

What You Bring

  • Experience at a top-tier strategy or operations consultancy, or a respected boutique strategy firm, is highly valued.

  • 10–15 years of experience in commercial strategy, operations, analytics, or strategy or operations consulting.

  • A deep, differentiated strength in incentive compensation strategy and design, ideally complemented by a second area of deep expertise elsewhere in commercial operations

  • Broad fluency across the rest of the commercial operations landscape, including market/situational analysis and related areas like commercial effectiveness, field reporting, competitive intelligence, or omnichannel/digital.

  • Experience in pharma, biotech, or medtech — whether in-house or as a consultant serving the industry — is valued but not required for the right strategic leader with a strong problem-solving track record.

  • High learning agility, with the confidence to get up to speed quickly on unfamiliar problems and domains.

  • Comfort designing qualitative and/or quantitative analyses to test and validate hypotheses.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field (Business Technology, Information Management, Business Analytics, Operations Management) or an MBA, or equivalent experience.
