Position Summary:
Axtria is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Techno-Functional IT Project Manager / Business Analyst (PM/BA) to join our consulting team for projects including pharmaceutical data integration, governance, processing and analytics. In this role, you will bridge the technical and business aspects of data onboarding projects, managing the delivery of IT solutions that align with business goals. The ideal candidate will be an expert in stakeholder management, particularly within the Japanese business environment, and have experience working with cross-functional teams in the US and India.
As a techno-functional leader, you will manage end-to-end project delivery, coordinate with global teams, and ensure that the project progresses on time, within scope, and aligns with client objectives. The role will require both strong technical understanding and a deep understanding of business processes, analysis, and project management.
Nice to have extensive hands-on experience with modern technology like Informatica, Databricks, Python along with the understanding of regulatory and business landscapes of Japan's pharmaceutical industry.  


Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Manage and lead IT projects from initiation to delivery, including planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and risk mitigation. Ensure timely delivery of projects while meeting client expectations in terms of scope and budget.
  • Process Improvement and Governance:
    • Support Agile project execution, participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming and retrospectives.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to ensure scalable and future-ready client ecosystems.
  • Technical Responsibilities: Have a solid understanding of the technical aspects, including but not limited to system integrations, data management, and ETL pipeline development for data ingestion, transformation and data processing.  Ensure technical solutions are aligned with business requirements. 
    • Leverage Databricks data for advanced analytics, data engineering and machine learning workflows.
    • Handle structured and unstructured data, including datasets in PDF or raw text formats.
    • Cloud Platforms e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.
    • Japan’s pharmaceutical data regulations and their application to data platforms.
    • Familiarity with tools and frameworks for data cataloging, and quality management.
  • Business Analysis: Lead requirements gathering and analysis for business processes. Work closely with the business teams in Japan to document and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for our IT teams.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage and manage stakeholders in Japan. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, understanding their requirements, and business objectives.
    • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units, ensuring mutual understanding of goals and deliverables.
    • Conduct workshops, training and presentations to enable stakeholders to leverage data solutions effectively.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with internal delivery teams based in India and US-based management. Facilitate communication between remote teams to ensure smooth project execution and issue resolution.
  • Delivery Management: Oversee the execution of the project, ensuring that deliverables meet quality standards. Manage risks, and issues. Provide regular status updates to senior management.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Work effectively within the Japanese business culture, respecting local norms and practices. Act as a cultural liaison between the client’s team in Japan and global teams.
  • Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between the client and the consultants, ensuring seamless communication and coordination between all parties.


 

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3+ years in IT Project Management and techno-functional roles, with significant experience in the Pharma industry. 10+ years of total experience in the pharmaceutical industry or life sciences domain (preferred).
  • Project Management: Proven track record of managing complex IT projects. Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience in tools and platforms like Informatica IDMC, Databricks is great to have.  Demonstrated expertise in handling pharma datasets like IQVIA, Veeva CRM, patient claims or sales data.  Also, including system integrations, data architecture, and software development processes.
  • Proficient in both Japanese and English.  Japanese fluency is a must for effective stakeholder management and collaboration.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment, especially coordinating with teams in the US and India.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure, excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.  

Desirable Skills:
  • Certifications: Scrum Master, PMP or similar project management certifications.
