Required Skills and Capabilities 

  • Real World Evidence or related field:> 10 years 
    • Strong understanding of working on prospective research / retrospective research methods and conducting analyses ran in healthcare databases.
    • Demonstrated understanding of the health care environment and the regulatory issues affecting the health care industry 
    • Health technology assessment (HTA) around the world 
    • Exposure in developing Evidence Generation Strategies
    • Pricing/reimbursement in biotechnology/pharmaceutical companies 
  • In-depth specialist knowledge of Real-World Evidence and its application to pharmaceutical development at an international level such as  
    • RWE 
    • Data strategies/statistical analysis 
    • Patient reported outcomes (PRO) 
    • Evidence generation plans 
    • Manuscript development 
  • Align the methods and focus of economic evaluations with appropriate stakeholders (payers, patients, healthcare professionals, societies) 
  • Possess strong business acumen and financial skills; budget management experience is required. 
  • Develop solutions addressing Axtria customer’s client needs to meet payer evidence needs.
  • Track record in business development and proposal development. 
  • Ability to meet revenue, delivery, and growth targets for the practice.
  • Proactive application of therapeutic area and disease treatment knowledge 
  • Able to implement projects including key stakeholders with high degree of autonomy. 
  • Proven ability to perform successfully under stringent timelines and with competing priorities. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills (including strong demonstration of ability to network and collaborate with others) 
  • Knowledge and understanding of disease management and upcoming trends 
  • Knowledge of competitive products and their application 

Responsibilities:

  • As an integral member of the RWE leadership team, the Principal RWE will be responsible for the development and implementation of scientifically robust evidence generation activities for clients. 
  • Develop research strategies for all RWE projects and provide scientific guidance to project teams 
  • Proactively and independently contribute to research planning process and resolution of complex issues for project teams.
  • Critically review major deliverable and ensure the highest quality including technical reports (modelling and RWE studies) & abstracts/manuscripts, systematic literature review/meta-analysis reports, value dossiers and other RWE deliverables
  • Mentor project teams scientifically and behaviorally. Groom next generation of leaders within Axtria 
  • Lead by action  
  • Scientific leadership of observational research studies, hands on with the development and delivery of RWE proposals and client deliverables.
  • Thought leadership while promoting sound methodological expertise and ensuring projects are delivered to high quality standards.
  • Develop expertise in RWE through publications and presentations of scientific research. 
  • This position will manage employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of any employees reporting to this role within that department.

Educational background 

  • Advanced degree in life sciences (e.g., MD, PhD, Pharm D, etc.) and/or health economics 
  • Doctoral degree in relevant field (Preferred) 
  • Master’s degree in outcomes research, health economics or related fields (Preferred) 
  • Bachelor’s degree in clinical or biological sciences, engineering, operations research over 10 years of experience in relevant field
